OHIO TAX FREE WEEKEND
July - 25 - 2019Ohio will hold it’s annual sales tax holiday, beginning from Friday, August 2, 2019 until Sunday, August 4, 2019. This weekend gives shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies and clothing free of state sales or use tax. Local sales tax may apply. Shopping during this weekend is a great way to save money when purchasing back-to-school items and clothing. School clothes and uniforms are all tax-free during this time. The discount applies to purchases made in stores and online.
During the holiday, the following items are exempt from sales and use tax:
All Clothing priced at $75 per item or less;
School supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and
School instructional material priced at $20 per item or less.

University Heights Approves Property Maintenance Grant Program
June - 11 - 2019University Heights City Council voted Monday (May 20) to approve the creation of a property maintenance grant program to help low-income residents, including senior citizens, make necessary outdoor home repairs.
Low-income residents would be eligible to receive a grant from the city of up to $2,500 to pay for necessary repairs. Money from the grant program could only be used to make exterior maintenance corrections after a resident has been issued a city citation ordering a repair to be made.

New course in Office Administration!
April - 30 - 2019This June, Gesher will be offering a 12 part course in Office Administration. If you’re looking for a fulfilling career as a receptionist, office manager, case worker, biller, bookkeeper, executive assistant or any other office administrative position, this course will help you identify and grow the skills you need. This course will teach you skills such as time management, Microsoft Outlook and Excel, managing your work/life balance, organizational culture, accountability and more. The course will consist of 12 bi-weekly evening classes. Sign up by May 15th to receive early bird pricing!
This Coming Monday, May 6th, we will be bringing in Mrs. Amy Clawson to host a workshop for special-needs parents and caretakers on the topic of Accessing Community Funding. The Event will be held at 8:00 pm at the Goldstein home 2480 Deborah Ln. in Beachwood.
